Abstract
In the 21st century, there are only two kinds of organization. -- Only two? -- Only two: Those who delight their customers and those who do not. The former will flourish and prosper. The rest will stagnate and eventually die.
Everywhere the challenges are the same: Speed. Collaboration. Innovation. Growth or stagnation? The problem: the management approaches which created tremendously successful companies during the first 70 years of the 20th century don't work any more. Traditional management systematically stifles innovation, demotivates staff and neglects customers.
And customers are more fickle than ever. They have reliable information about their options: unless they are delighted, and they can and will go elsewhere. Existing companies stagnate or worse while new companies take the lion's share of the profits.
For the past three years I have organized the Scrum Breakfasts and Lean Agile Scrum Conferences in Zurich to help executive and operational project leaders deliver better results – in the form of higher productivity, meeting deadlines or creating better products. This year, I will extend that tradition with this special gathering for top management with Steve Denning.
This Gathering is for leaders who want a radically better approach to management. They want effective change leadership to transform their companies into organizations that can thrive in the 21st century. They want to be among the winners.
What you will learn: In-depth learning about what it takes to generate the continuous innovation needed to delight your customers. You will learn the five big shifts:
- the shift in the goal of the organization from making money for shareholders to delighting the customer
- the shift in the role of managers from controllers of individuals to enablers of self-organizing teams
- the shift in the way work is coordinated from bureaucracy to dynamic linking
- the shift from value to values
- the shift from top-down command to conversation
You will understand why these shifts are the inevitable consequence of basic changes in the marketplace and the workplace. You will learn how to use storytelling to revolutionize the workplace and establish a radical management mindset. The day will focus on co-creating the "big picture" principles of radical management as well as the practices involved in implementing the principles. It will include what is involved in creating an environment that brings everyone along. The last session will focus on working together in applying those principles and practices to your setting and showing you how you can take this forward.
